Rodney Lynn Moore
Rodney Lynn Moore passed away on November 19, 2022 in Bend, Oregon. Born to Harvey and Lucille Moore (nee Crotinger) on June 22, 1945 Rod grew up working on his parents' farm and attended school in Bazine, Kansas. In 1967 he graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He then moved to Portland, Oregon, where he worked for United Airlines for 15 years. He married Mary Sekavec in 1968 and together they had two children, Robert Earl (born 1973) and Sara Marie (born 1977). In 1982 he bought a hardware store in Estacada, Oregon, and ran the store successfully until his retirement in 2002. He married Patricia Hvam in 1996. After they both retired they enjoyed life to the fullest. Together they built a house in Prineville, Oregon. They stayed busy at their properties on Mt. Hood and at the Oregon Coast. They traveled and fished the western United States from Oregon to Kansas. Rod especially enjoyed fishing for salmon on the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean and for kokanee at Odell Lake. Rod is survived by his wife, Patricia Moore, his two children; Robert Moore and Sara Moore-Gonsalves; their spouses; Kelly Yan and Lorenzo Gonsalves; and his grandchildren: Ava Moore-Gonsalves, Dante Moore-Gonsalves, Jacklynn Yan-Moore, and Sophia Yan-Moore. He is also survived by his stepchildren Stephanie and Mike Littlefield, and Braden Hvam; plus step-grandchildren Carter and Erin Hvam; and Keilah, Eliana, Hope and Noelle Littlefield. Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lucille Moore, and stepson Jason Hvam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Coast Land Conservancy, PO Box 67, Seaside, OR 97138.
