Douglas Dean Lerch was born on March 29, 1961 in Montana on the Blackfoot River. He was the 2nd of 3 sons born to Robert and Ardiss Lerch. The family moved to Estacada Oregon in 1972 where Robert taught all 3 boys the art of wood and metal. Doug excelled in both. Doug joined the Navy in 1979. He was in the 1st Iran/Iraq controversy for 3 1/2 years. Doug has worked at Estacada Rock for 25+ years with many titles. He has one biological son (Dean Robert Lerch) born in 1982 from his first marriage to Linda Jarred. But, being married 3 times, Doug raised many stepchildren. Doug is survived by his youngest brother, Wayne, his son Dean and 5 granddaughters.
