April 13, 1928 - October 2, 2022 - Glenice Lyon Jones, 94, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on October 2, 2022.

Glenice Lyon Jones, 94, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on October 2, 2022. Glenice was born in Everett WA on April 13, 1928 to Louis and Lydia Lyon. There she attended grade and high school and studied ballet. After graduation she attended WA State in Pullman to study business. She joined Alpha Phi and was a life time member. Upon return to Everett, she fell in love with a handsome Marine. Glenice and Lester Daws Jones wed on September 5, 1952. Les was employed by Weyerhaeuser which took them to Dallas, TX where both Suzanne and Larry were born. They moved to Rockford, IL in 1959.

After the children attended school, she worked as a law secretary. Wanting to return to the Pacific NW, Les accepted a lumber broker position in Portland in 1973. They moved there in 1974 and purchased their forever home on Hillcrest Court in 1976. Until her retirement, she worked as a legal secretary in Portland. She was an active member of Christ Church Episcopal Alter Guild Society in Lake Oswego. Les and Glenice loved to attend the many concerts and performances in the Portland area along with Dance Club activities in Lake Oswego. Glenice so enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, bridge and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lester, daughter and Son-in-Law, Suzanne and Steve Coe, sister Betty Whalen and her parents. She is survived by her son Larry (Betty) Jones; grandchildren Everett Coe, Lydia Coe, Nicolle (Matthew) Brown and Scott Jones.

There will be a service for Glenice at Christ Church Episcopal Parish at 11:00 AM on Tuesday November 22, 2022 and will then be interned in the garden. 1060 Chandler Road, Lake Oswego 97034. In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to Christ Church Alter Guild Society. PO Box 447 Lake Oswego OR 97034 or to the charity of your choice in her honor. She was greatly loved and will be incredibly missed.
