CHICAGO – Nissan used the Chicago Auto Show as a backdrop to announce that they will offer special "Midnight Edition" trim on six of the brand's most popular models. The first Midnight Edition package was offered in 2016 on the Nissan Maxima SR, and the trim became so popular that 85 percent of Maxima SR sales now include the package.
"Customers loved the blackout treatment on Maxima SR and asked for it to be available on other popular Nissan vehicles," Christian Meunier, senior vice president of Sales & Marketing, Nissan North America, said at the show on Feb. 8.
The six models slated to offer Midnight Edition trim are the Sentra, Altima, and Maxima sedans, and the Rogue, Murano, and Pathfinder SUVs. Midnight edition features include black wheels, a black rear spoiler, black side mirror caps and optionally, special floor mat. Midnight Edition vehicles may be ordered with black, white, gray or red body color. Additional Midnight Edition features are available on a model-by-model basis.
"We're creating a clear visual identity package across key models in the Nissan lineup," said Meunier.
Unique features on the Midnight Editions of the six models mostly involve wheel sizes and designs, but also include LED headlights and remote engine start on the Altima, black roof rails on Rogue and Murano, and a special rear diffuser on Maxima SR. Prices for the Midnight Edition package range from $490 to $1,195 depending on the model chosen.
Midnight Edition models are available at Nissan dealers now.
