Marion County Sheriff's Office deputy also graduates with Oregon DPSST police class

The latest group of graduates from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training's Basic Police Class will graduate July 13.

Among the graduates is Officer Cody Best, of the Mount Angel Police Department, and Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Vogel, of the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

The Basic Police Class is 16 weeks in length and includes dozens of training areas, including survival skills, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, ethics, cultural diversity, problem solving, community policing, elder abuse, drug recognition and dozens of other subjects.

Basic Police Class 379 will graduate at the Oregon Public Safety Academy at 4190 Aumsville Highway S.E in Salem at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, with a reception immediately following the graduation.  Chief Bob Morris of Junction City Police Department will be the speaker.
