The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s regional administrator will discuss President Obama’s recent order to reduce carbon emissions from coal plants, at this week’s Portland City Club Friday Forum.

Dennis McLerran, in charge of the EPA’s Northwest activities, also will discuss the Portland Harbor Superfund process and toxics in the Columbia River. From Seattle, McLerran is responsible for EPA work in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska.

The event is at the Sentinel Hotel, 614 S.W. 11th Ave, in downtown Portland.

Those who aren’t members of the City Club may buy admission tickets for $15, or $30 with lunch.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the program begins at 12:15 p.m.
