This year’s Great Onion Festival, held Oct. 13 at Archer Glen Elementary School, came off without a hitch.

The annual event, sponsored by Pacific Family Dental, Bittner Dentistry and Wilson Orthodontics, was well-attended, colorful and entertaining, according to Sherwood Chamber of Commerce Director Nancy Bruton.

Included in the event was the onion-rolling contest, following another favorite, an onion eating contest.

Meanwhile, a variety of vendors offered handcrafted items, jewelry, handbags, local honey, kettle corn, cookies and candies.
