More amenities will be available once the project is complete
The King City Pro Shop has been undergoing a major renovation since late April, and despite the construction chaos going on around him, Pro Shop Manager Harold Washam is still on duty.
Walls have been knocked down and rebuilt to convert part of the former huge storage area into an area for the men's and women's golf clubs to meet plus a larger office area, according to King City Civic Association Administrator J. Patrick Moore.
Also, the Pro Shop has gotten its liquor license from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission to sell beer, so a new cooler will be installed in the expanded office area.
"The ratio has changed to fewer resident golfers who want to store their bags and clubs here, so we don't need as much storage space anymore," Moore said.
The desks and bulletin boards are being removed from the main room, and new carpet and fixtures will create a more upscale, café-type atmosphere, according to Moore.
The mens and womens locker rooms are also available to pool-users. and the men's locker room also is getting an upgrade because "it needed it the most," Moore said.
No completion date for the project has been set.
