Virtual program hosted by City Club of Portland on March 12 expected to address police, homelessness, downtown.

SCREENSHOT - Mayor Ted Wheeler speaking during a virtual City Council session on Dec. 9.Just months after winning a second term by a relatively low margin, Mayor Ted Wheeler on Friday, March 12, will deliver his State of the City address in a video program online.

Hosted by the City Club of Portland, the annual program is expected to address "lack of police accountability, the growing homelessness crisis, slow emergency response times, the deterioration of downtown and more," according to the civic nonprofit's website.

Along with Wheeler's address, he will converse with Eric Ward, executive director of the nonprofit Western States Center.
