Portland detectives are looking for two men in their 20s who carjacked a Southeast Portland vehicle and then robbed a Franklin High School student at gunpoint Wednesday morning.

Police said the suspects were two white men driving a stolen red 2002 Mazda Protege. One of the suspects has a handgun.

The robberies began at about 6 a.m. March 13, when two white men wearing ski masks and dark clothing stole the Mazda from a woman near Southeast Clinton Street and 38th Avenue. The suspects also robbed the woman before they drove away in her car.

At about 7 a.m., a young woman attending Franklin High School told officers that the two men pulled up along side her and took her purse at gunpoint as she walked in the area of Southeast 51st Avenue and Woodward Street. The young woman wasn't injured.

Nearby Richmond Elementary School on Southeast 41st Avenue was placed on temporary lock-out as a precaution. The lock-out was lifted by mid-morning.

Officers recovered the Mazda a short time later, but the suspects were not found. One of the car's license plates was missing. The plate is Oregon-952BDR.
