Police say the three suspects arrested in Wednesday's officer-involved shooting were involved in a crime spree over the past several weeks that included robbery and burglary.
Investigators believe the suspects' white Chevy Suburban may have been used in the commission of those crimes. It crashed trying to escape police in southwest Portland before Officer Jeff Dorn was wounded and his K-9 partner Mick was killed.
Dorn is now out of the hospital recovering at home.
The suspect who shot Dorn and Mick is Paul Alan Ropp, 20. Ropp is hospitalized with injuries from the incident and will be charged after he is released in the next few days. Probable charges include aggravated attempted murder.
Two other suspect have already been charged.
One is Jemaell Diamond Dominique Riley, 25. He is charged with Attempted Kidnapping in the First Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping in the First Degree, Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the First Degree, and two counts of Burglary in the First Degree.
The other is Steven Alan Young, 20. He is charged with Burglary in the First Degree, and will face additional charges of Attempted Kidnapping in the First Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping in the First Degree, Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the First Degree.
Detectives are continuing to follow every lead and still have an active, ongoing investigation.
