SUNDAY COLLEGE SOFTBALL ROUNDUP/Oregon State makes short work of Stanford in completing Pac-12 road sweep



• Seventh-ranked ASU salvaged one game out of three in its home series with the No. 3 Ducks.

The Sun Devils scored in four of their six at-bats, making the most of six hits off Megan Kleist (13-5) and two relievers.

Oregon, held to three hits, fell to 34-7 overall and 9-3 in the Pac-12.

Arizona State improved to 34-7, 8-5.

• The Beavers completed a road sweep with a 14-3 edge in hits.

OSU opened the scoring with six runs in the second inning and had four in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Mariah Mazon (11-10) allowed three hits and one walk and a run in the fourth.

Missy Nunes homered with two on in the fourth, after driving in two runs with a second-inning single. She was 3 for 3.

Camryn Ybarra singled home Oregon State's first run and doubled in the Beavers' final two runs.

WESTERN OREGON 8, Concordia 4

• Samantha Byron (4-4) scattered seven hits and allowed three runs in six relief innings as she helped the Cavaliers win the nightcap and earn a four-game weekend split with WOU.

Concordia had a 6-0 lead after five innings and got two hits from three players, including Jordan Smith-Imes, a former Roosevelt High standout who went 5 for 11 with 3 RBIs in the final three games of the series.

The teams split two games on Friday, also at Porter Park.

Concordia ended the weekend with an 18-20 overall record and 5-11 mark in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Western Oregon is 22-20, 10-10 GNAC.
