Arnold Mike Heiman
Arnold Mike Heiman was born in Damascus,
Oregon to Casper Heiman and Margaret
Kehrli Heiman. He attended Cottrell grade
school and took courses in Agriculture and Animal
Husbandry at OSU under the GI Bill.
During World War II he served in the Army,
spending two years overseas in Ireland, France and
Germany. He was seriously wounded at the Battle
of the Bulge, requiring six months recuperation in
England. He received a Purple Heart and Expert
Arnold married Lillian Bachofner on July 29,
1943 in Portland. They had two children, Lawrence
Arnold and Donna Mae.
He worked for several dairies in the Portland
area before working for 35 years as a food and
coffee salesman for many companies, including
Boyd's and MJB.
He enjoyed being outdoors, raising beef cattle,
farming and traveling.
Arnold received Christ as his Savior in the
cotton fields of North Carolina while serving in the
Army and was later baptized at the Trinity Baptist
church. More recently, he was a member of the
Pleasant Home Community Church.
He is survived by his wife Lillian, grandchildren
Rebecca Speitz, Tess Barr-Hamblin and Dylan Barr
and great-grandsons Casper, Cade and Chase. He
was preceded in death by son Larry Heiman and
daughter Donna Barr.
