SUBMITTED PHOTO - Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation and 47th Avenue Farm invite all to subcribe to CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) this summer. You can even try it out on a weekly basis during August and September.

CSA try-it-out days offered in August and September

Enjoy fresh vegetables straight from the farm. Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation has partnered with Laura Masterson of 47th Avenue Farms to provide citizens with an opportunity to receive local, sustainably grown vegetables.

The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program is a partnership between a farmer and local consumers. Shareholders pay a fee at the beginning of growing season to meet the farm's expenses for the upcoming season. In return, they receive a portion of the farm's produce throughout the growing season. Harvest starts mid-May and continues through the end of October.

Members come to Luscher Farm on Thursday evenings between 5-7 p.m. to pick up their weekly share of produce, which consists of 8-10 different vegetables and herbs. For ages 16+, 5-7 p.m., Thursdays, May 17-Oct. 25, Luscher Farm, fee of a half share is $585; whole shares are $1,055.

CSA Try-it- Out — Curious about being a CSA member? Buy a half share for a week and try it out. Registration is required and due the Tuesday before the Thursday pick-up date. Try-it-out days are limited to Thursdays during August and September. Each try-it-out day is $27.
