And for Jaramillo — a 6-foot-5, 310-pound senior offensive lineman on the Lake Oswego football team — Friday marked a very big day in his young life.

In addition to leading the Three Rivers League-leading Lakers into a homecoming game battle against Newberg later in the day, Jaramillo was also honored as a 2018 Under Armour All-American during a ceremony in the Lake Oswego High School auditorium on Friday morning.

Jaramillo was joined on stage by his family, Lake Oswego assistant coach Chris Hubley, and representatives from both Under Armour and American Family Insurance (the sponsor for the Selection Tour) in a ceremony before many of Jaramillo's classmates and teammates.

"We are excited to present Dawson Jaramillo for his selection in the 2018 Under Armour All American game," said Under Armour presenter Nicholas Bradley.

"Congratulations on achieving your dream of becoming an Under Armour All-American and playing in the game," added Larry Thompson, an agent with American Family Insurance in Lake Oswego.

After being presented with his Under Armour game jersey by Thompson, Jaramillo expressed gratitude for his success on the football field.

"I just want to thank God for this opportunity. He's really blessed me," said Jaramillo, a University of Oregon commit. "And I want to thank my coaches and teammates. I wouldn't be here without all you guys."

Following the jersey presentation, Hubley told the assembled crowd what Jaramillo has meant to the Lakers' football program.

"I want to congratulate Dawson for this honor," Hubley said. "We want to thank him for the dedication he's shown to this program. We appreciate everything you've done and we're so proud of you and we're so excited for you to achieve your goals."

Next up for Jaramillo — he's currently ranked No. 67 overall (and No. 7 among offensive tackles) on the ESPN 300 list of top college prospects from the Class of 2018 — is the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game presented by American Family Insurance. That game is slated for 6 p.m. EST on Jan. 4 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida; the game will be televised live on ESPN2.

In addition, Jaramillo's mother, Michelle Jaramillo, was presented with the Dream Champion award, an honor given to the person most "responsible" for helping Dawson Jaramillo achieve his dreams.
