New political group forms in Lake Oswego

The Coalition to hold meeting

A new political group has formed in Lake Oswego.

The Coalition of Lake Oswego, or The Coalition for short, represents “citizens who promote thoughtful investment in Lake Oswego schools, parks, businesses, arts and culture, recreational programs and natural resources,” according to its website, coalitionlo.org.

The website states that the group formed in reaction to a “hard right turn” the city took in last November’s election. Organizing committee members include former city councilors Sally Moncrieff and Bill Tierney along with Rob LeChevallier, Chris Schetky, Joan Moore, Karen Jacobson and Doug Fish.

The Coalition plans to hold a meeting discussing its aims, benefits of membership and why citizens should become involved from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the West End Building, 4101 Kruse Way.
