Myers (maiden name Zuhlke) is a member of the Lakeridge Class of 1994, which is looking to incorporate as a not-for-profit group in honor of its 20th reunion. The reunion committee, including Myers, put on a celebration last Friday at Lake Theater & Café to mark the milestone year.

The goal is for the Class of 1994, which had 252 grads, to be able to help each other out in times of crisis. Class members are nearing 40, and members may eventually start to need aid if their health fails, Myers said. Two classmates already have died of cancer.

“The truth is that I just love these people,” she said. “Growing up together creates a huge imprint on a person. These are the kids with whom I learned, made mistakes, forgave and celebrated.”

Myers said it’s important to be prepared.

“It seemed like it needed to be done,” Myers said. “I feel like as a community, people need to be connected and help one another out where they can.”
