Age of Champions film celebrates strength of seniors


The Stafford Boutique Retirement Community will host screenings of 'Age of Champions,' an award-winning documentary of five senior competitors, each Wednesday at 2 p.m. starting Nov. 14.The Stafford Boutique Retirement Community will host screenings of the award-winning documentary “Age of Champions” on Nov. 14, 21 and 28 and Dec. 5 and 12 at 2 p.m.

The film is a story of five competitors who sprint, leap and swim for gold at the National Senior Olympics.

You will meet a 100-year-old tennis champion, an 86-year-old pole vaulter and a pair of rough and tumble basketball-playing grandmothers, all of whom battle to overcome the limitations of age and discover the resilience of the human spirit.

The film premiered to a standing ovation at the Silverdocs Film Festival and has since been shown at more than 500 venues around the world.
