Resonance Ensemble to present 'The Bard Sings' at Lewis and Clark

Concert features music inspired by Shakespeares texts


Resonance Ensemble will present "The Bard Sings" on Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Agnes Flanagan Chapel on the Lewis and Clark University campus and Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1200 SW Alder in Portland. by: SUBMITTED - Soprano Natalie Gunn will sing with the Resonance Ensemble in The Bard Sings to be presented Oct. 27 and 28.

This is the season opener for Resonance and features music inspired by Shakespeare’s texts. Dramatic readings are interspersed with musical setting by Ralph Vaughan Willians, operatic composers Benjamin Britten and Giuseppe Verdi, Americans Steven Sametz and Ned Rorem, and international composers Jaakko Mantyjaravi and Richard Strauss.

Soprano Natalie Gunn, known to Portland audiences for her solo career with organizations such as Portland Baroque Orchestra, Portland SummerFest and Portland Chamber Orchestra, will be singing with Resonance Ensemble.

Tickets are $11 for students, $15 for seniors and $22 for adult admission. They can be purchased online at http://resonancechoral.org. Season tickets are also available for $30 for students, $45 for seniors and $65 for adults.
