Hillsboro-area teams gear up for postseason

A number of local schools have already earned playoff bids


Here’s a quick recap of where all the Hillsboro-area sports teams stand as the regular season winds to a close and the OSAA state playoffs begin:

The Century football team went 7-2 this season (5-2 in the Pacific Conference). The Jaguars finished the regular season with a 34-7 win over McMinnville to secure an automatic qualifying spot for the Class 6A playoffs.

The Jaguars volleyball team went 23-4 (14-0) and finished the regular season by beating Southridge 3-1, which assures them a spot in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

The Jags boys soccer team (3-5-7, 1-5-1) won their Class 6A play-in game against West Linn, 2-0. They will now go on the road to face Jesuit in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

The Century girls soccer team finished the season 5-7-3 (1-3-3). They ended the year with a 3-0 loss to Oregon City in a Class 6A play-in match.

The Glencoe football team finished went 5-4 (3-4 in the Pacific Conference). They will play Barlow at Hare Field at 7 p.m. tonight in a Class 6A play-in game.

The Crimson Tide volleyball team went 6-12 (6-8). They ended the season with a 3-1 loss to Oregon City in a Class 6A play-in match.

The Crimson Tide boys soccer team went 7-7-1 (1-5-1). Their season ended with a 1-0 loss to Aloha in a Class 6A play-in game.

The Glencoe girls soccer team went 6-7 (4-3). The Tide ended the regular season with a 7-0 loss to Tualatin, but the Tide will have a chance to play North Medford at U.S. Cellular Sports Park on on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

After an 0-9 season (0-7 in the Pacific Conference), the Hillsboro football team will face Westview on the road tonight at 7:30 p.m. in a Class 6A play-in game.

The Spartans volleyball team went winless this season (0-18, 0-14). Their season ended after they fell to West Linn 3-0 in a Class 6A play-in match.

The Hillsboro boys soccer team finished the season 9-3-2 (5-1-1). They will face Westview at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the first round of Class 6A playoffs.

Hillsboro’s girls soccer team finished the season 7-5-3 (1-3-2). The Spartans won their Class 6A play-in game against Aloha 3-2. The Spartans will now go on the road to face Lakeridge at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

The Liberty football team (1-8, 1-6 in 5A-1 Northwest Oregon Conference) ended its regular season with a 29-14 loss against Parkrose.

The Falcons volleyball team finished the season 15-7 (9-5). They won their Class 5A play-in game over Silverton 3-2. They will now go on the road to face Pendleton at 4 p.m. on Saturday in the first round of the OSAA Class 5A playoffs.

Liberty’s boys soccer team (8-4-1, 5-2) finished the regular season with a 1-0 win over Parkrose.

The Falcons girls soccer team (9-4-1, 5-2) also finished the regular season with a win over Parkrose, topping the Broncos 7-0.
