Latino Festival fast approaching

Wondering what to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon? Get out and join the festivities, rain or shine, April 13 as the community celebrates the rich Latino culture of Hillsboro during the 10th annual Latino Cultural Festival.

This family-oriented day of festivities includes a Futsal tournament, walking parade, entertainment, art village, activities for kids and a variety of foods and business and nonprofit organization exhibitors.

The mission of the festival is to connect, embrace and engage the Latino community in Hillsboro while providing an opportunity for people of all ethnicities to celebrate Washington County’s diverse, tradition-rich cultures.

The 2014 event is being sponsored by Tuality Healthcare, Hillsboro 2020 and the Hillsboro Tribune. Other supporters include Columbia Bank, Metro, PGE, WalMart, Bobadilla Law and Dental Health Services.

This year’s entertainment is sponsored by the Hillsboro Arts & Cultural Council and La Pantera Radio.

The festival will be Sunday, April 13, from noon until 5 p.m. at the Tom Hughes Civic Center Plaza at 150 E. Main Street in downtown Hillsboro.

The festival is free and open to all.

The Hillsboro Civic Center is just a three-minute walk from the Hatfield Government Center MAX light rail station, and with limited parking downtown, use of mass transit is encouraged.
