Craddick ran unopposed for District 1, which covers East Multnomah County, during the May 15 Oregon election

OUTLOOK FILE PHOTO - Metro Councilor Shirley CraddickIncumbent Metro Councilor Shirley Craddick, District 1, was reelected to her position after running unopposed in the Tuesday, May 15, primary election.

Craddick received 13,091 votes, 97.92 percent, after updated results were released Wednesday morning.

The position is nonpartisan.

Craddick's district includes Fairview, Gresham, Troutdale, Wood Village, portions of East Portland and the unincorporated communities of Damascus and Boring. She was sworn into office in 2011. In her time as a Metro Councilor she has focused on increasing economic prosperity in East Multnomah County while protecting natural areas, creating jobs, and fostering vibrant and active town centers.

Craddick previously served as a Gresham city councilor from 2004 to 2010. She is a retired registered dietitian and health researcher, serving at Kaiser Permanente's Center for Health Research for almost 33 years.
