NEWS BRIEFS: Rockwood resident's eviction delayed
A 79-year-old Rockwood resident has been given an extra month to find a new home after her landlord terminated her lease without cause.
After 30 years in the same home, Donna Spicer received an eviction notice effective on New Year's Eve, reports KOIN 6 News, The Outlook's media partner.
Now she's hoping her application for a low-income apartment will be accepted before time runs out at the end of January.
Spicer survives on a Social Security stipend. Both her children were murdered in unrelated incidents years ago.

Play equipment moves to church on Burnside
The children's playground equipment that had been located at Plaza del Sol has been moved to Burnside Baptist Church to facilitate work being done in preparation of Rockwood Rising's groundbreaking.
The church, located at 18311 E. Burnside St., agreed to house the play structure during the duration of the construction so that neighborhood kids will still have a place to play. The playground will be under Gresham City Park rules, and open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. through March 3.
