Police say speed, impairment not a factor in the accident on Southeast Division Street near 179th.

KOIN 6 NEWS PHOTO - A pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Gresham on November 21, 2017.A man was struck by a vehicle and killed early Tuesday evening on Southeast Division Street near 179th Avenue, Gresham police said.

The pedestrian, 55-year-old Portland resident Richard Etter, was not in a marked crosswalk, police said. The accident happened about 7:30 p.m. in dark and rainy conditions.

The drivers of two vehicles — Shawn Rosengrant, 42, and Jose Martinez-Buenrrostro, 40, — remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation.

"Speed and impairment don't appear to be a factor of the collision. No arrests or citations have been issued," a press release states.

The East County Vehicular Crimes Team is investigating the the collision.
