Troutdale seeks engineering aides

The city of Troutdale is looking for qualified applicants for the position of engineering aide this summer.

The position with the Public Works Department is a temporary, seasonal position expected to start on or around June 2, and last for 14 weeks.

The right candidate will have at least two years of engineering experience including land surveying techniques and geographic information systems as well as a high school education or any combination of training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this job.

Qualified applicants also must have a valid driver’s license. Military veterans should include any transferable skills from the military on their applications.

Luncheon honors exemplary partners

The Salvation Army Gresham Corps & Community Center is hosting a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, to acknowledge local volunteers and companies who have helped to support its mission.

The “Hearts in Motion: a Community Recognition Lunch” will be held at the Gresham Corps, 473 S.E. 194th Ave. (on the corner of 194th and Southeast Stark Street).

Without the help of volunteers and partner organizations, The Salvation Army would not be able to serve the millions of people it does worldwide, said Major Don Gilger, Portland metro coordinator at The Salvation Army.

Gresham senior class hosts fundraiser

A benefit dinner and auction for Gresham High School’s 2014 Senior All Night Party kicks off at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Club Paesano in Cedarville Park, 3800 W. Powell Loop.

Master of ceremonies for the western-themed event will be Gresham Fire’s Interim Chief Greg Matthews. High bidders can take home auction items such as Club Level tickets to a Portland Trail Blazer game, landscaping trees from John Holmlund Nursery, the use of a Sunriver home and much more.

Tickets are $30 for the dinner and auction and must be purchased by Monday, March 3.
