by: COURTESY PHOTO: DAVID LEONNIG - The Washington County Museum invites the public to pull out all the classics they remember as children at a retro game night. It’s time to dust off Candyland, Monopoly, Clue, Twister and more. Embrace childhood favorites Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Washington County Museum’s “Get Your Game On: Retro Game Night,” from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Interactive Museum of Gaming and Puzzlery will be the featured guest, presenting an exhibit on original Native American games of the Pacific Northwest tribes and a 6:15 p.m. talk about the history of games and puzzles.

IMGP staff will also bring along some of the more unusual games in their vast collection, some very rare and representative of different time periods, such as “Black and White,” a race relation game dating to the late 1960s.

“When the weather is cold and dreary, many of us remember that’s when the board games came out to keep us entertained,” said Marcia Hale, the museum’s director of guest services and public programs.

The event is for ages 21 and older. Snacks and beverages are served.

Ticket prices are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets purchased in blocks of five or more are $10 each.

Tickets may be purchased at the museum, by phone 503-645-5353 or online at: washingtoncountymuseum.org/museumafterdark.
