Police Log

Information for this column comes from Sandy Police Department public records. The Sandy Police Department provides service in Estacada. Officers recently filed reports on the following incidents.

FRAUD

On Friday, May 30, an employee of a business in the 200 block of South Broadway Street told police that on Tuesday, May 27, a 51-year-old Estacada transient had stolen merchandise and then returned it, defrauding the business of $39.99 in cash. Police are searching for the transient for questioning.

JUVENILE ARREST

On Wednesday, May 28, a woman in the 200 block of Northwest Wade Street told police that her car window had been smashed and estimated the damage at $500. The officer located the suspects, two 17-year-old boys, in the 300 block of Southeast Main Street. One teen implicated the other and revealed a second victim in a statement. A business in the 300 block of Southwest Highway 224 also had a broken window. The officer estimated it would cost more than $1,000 to repair. One teen was taken to the Clackamas County Juvenile Intake Center then released to a parent. The other was booked in the Donald E. Long detention center.

TRUANCY

An officer served a truancy citation to the parent of a 16-year-old Estacada High School student living in the 21300 block of South Springwater Road on Monday, May 6.
