Past president of the Oregon Association of County Tax Collectors defeats challenger from within her own ranks

Clackamas County Assessor Tami Little overcame a challenger from within her own ranks in order to stay on as the top manager of the county's taxing authority, according to initial Nov. 6 election results showing her with 65 percent of the vote.

Tami LittleLittle was sworn in as the new assessor after the April 30 retirement of Bob Vroman, but she had to survive Mike Grant's challenge to keep her job. An Oregon City resident, Grant works full time for Clackamas County as a commercial/industrial appraiser.

Little has been with the assessor's office for more than 34 years. She has served as assessment and taxation manager since 2007. She says that she had key roles in Clackamas County's implementation of Measures 5 and 50 and in major software conversions. She also was the past president of the Oregon Association of County Tax Collectors.
