Happy Valley juvenile driver seriously hurt at Gov't Camp
A juvenile behind the wheel suffered at least serious injuries following a car wreck in Government Camp, police say.
Oregon State Police troopers responded to reports of a crash around 4:45 p.m. near Government Camp Loop on Saturday, July 7, according to a news release.
Police say a juvenile driver from Happy Valley was attempting to merge onto eastbound U.S. Route 26 from a parking lot when their black 2011 Chrysler 200 was struck by a black 2003 Ford F350 traveling westbound.
Police say the juvenile driver and another occupant, Ya-Chu Matilda Chuang, were transported to Oregon Health & Sciences University for treatment of injuries ranging from "serious to critical."
A third person in the car suffered "minor injuries" and was treated at the scene.
Police say the driver of the Ford has been identified as Bruce Dyal, 19, of Brightwood.
"All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision," a news release states. "Neither speed nor alcohol (are) contributing factors."
