Cops seek witnesses of Happy Valley crash injuring pedestrian
Clackamas County deputies are seeking witnesses to the June 3 crash in which a motorcyclist struck and gravely injured a pedestrian on Southeast Sunnyside Road at 147th Avenue in Happy Valley.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, county deputies had attempted to catch up to a motorcycle traveling at a "noticeably high rate of speed" eastbound along Sunnyside. A deputy turned a corner and found Greyson Mbock, 18, had been struck by motorcycle rider Joseph Castro, 20, both of Happy Valley. Mbock was transported to a local hospital by Life Flight with life-threatening injuries, while Castro was transported by AMR ambulance to a local hospital, where he was released then interviewed by detectives.
Investigators believe Mbock was in the crosswalk legally crossing Sunnyside Road at the time of the crash. Investigators also believe speed was a factor in the collision.
