More downtown sidewalks get attention
Cracked and broken sidewalks in front of the city hall were the focus of city crews this week.Another section of sidewalks in the downtown area is being improved; those in front of Prineville's city hall. Cracked and broken sidewalks in the business sector have been torn up and replaced by city crews recently, one segment at a time. Most of the work has been done by the city street department with the property owner being billed for the work. Two of the more impressive segments went far beyond the simple replacement of sidewalks and curbs, however. The corner where Checkers Espresso is now located, Meadow Lakes Drive and Third St. and Morgan's at the corner of Main and Third streets, have added a great deal to the beautification of Prineville's downtown area. The work in front of city hall is expected to be completed later this week.
