Alleged drunken driver extradited back to Washington County
A woman wanted for driving under the influence in July, resulting in a fatal automobile crash on Highway 99W, has been arrested in California and extradited to Oregon.
On July 30, 2017, Michelle McMillan of the Tigard area was involved in the traffic crash where a pedestrian was struck and later died. McMillan was arrested for manslaughter in the first degree. At the time of the crash, her blood alcohol content had been over three times the legal limit. A Washington County grand jury indicted her for manslaughter, driving under the influence, and other charges related to the crash, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
But she allegedly fled before her arrest.
A Beaverton Police officer from the inter-agency Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team obtained information that McMillan was in California.
On Nov. 19, the Lincoln Police Department in California located McMillan and arrested her for the outstanding warrant. She was held at the Placer County Jail in California. Early Friday, Dec. 29, McMillan was extradited to Oregon and lodged at the Washington County Jail, charged with manslaughter in the first degree, driving under the influence of intoxicants, two counts of assault in the third degree, reckless endangering, reckless driving and criminal mischief in the second degree.
